[Top 5] Dark Souls 3 Most OP Weapons (And How To Get Them)

There are hundreds of weapons in Dark Souls 3 and not all of them are created equal. Some are stronger than others, and because of that, we have created this list to narrow down the scope of possible weapons you can choose to make your next playthrough much easier. All of these weapons belong to different categories, so everyone is included at least a little bit.

5. Demon’s Scar

How to get the Demon’s Scar

The Demon’s Scar is a very fast weapon that is ideal for Pyromancers who really want to go all-in when it comes to Fire damage. You can cast extremely powerful Pyromancies and deal great damage with this fantastic weapon. In either hand, it can act as a Pyromancy catalyst while at the same time acting as a simple Curved Sword that deals solid damage at the cost of not having a heavy attack.

What makes the Demon’s Scar overpowered:

  • Fast attack speed
  • Very light weapon
  • Can be used to cast Pyromancies
  • Good scaling

Demon’s Scar stats:

  • Regular: 99 Fire attack | Intelligence scaling: D
  • Regular +3: 147 Fire attack | Intelligence scaling: C
  • Regular +5: 180 Fire attack | Intelligence scaling: C

4. Crucifix of the Mad King

How to get the Crucifix of the Mad King

This one is great for players who like to rely on Faith as their primary source of damage. The Crucifix of the Mad King is a cross-spear with a corpse tied to the end of it, so it has innate Dark damage applied with each hit. The weapon skill is the important factor here, as each cast of the skill will make a different effect happen. This can be a homing mass, AOE explosion, or a blessing. The chance of these happening is completely random, so you can have some fun in guessing which one you’re gonna get!

What makes the Crucifix of the Mad King overpowered:

  • Great damage
  • Interesting and versatile weapon Skill
  • Decent scaling
  • High Dark damage with Faith

Crucifix of the Mad King stats:

  • Regular: 124 physical attack | Strength scaling: D
  • Regular +3: 172 physical attack | Strength scaling: D
  • Regular +5: 216 physical attack | Strength scaling: C

3. Claymore

How to get the Claymore

One of the earliest weapons you can get, the Claymore is a beast when it comes to Strength builds as it has excellent scaling, a strong moveset, and incredible damage for how early you get it in the game. You can pick it up as early as the first dragon on the High Wall of Lothric. From there, you want to invest your skill points into Vigor, Strength, and Vitality so you can turn into an unkillable powerhouse who does not want to be messed with.

What makes the Claymore overpowered:

  • Excellent all-round weapon
  • Good scaling
  • Reliable moveset
  • Great damage

Claymore stats:

  • Regular: 138 physical attack | Strength scaling: D
  • Regular +3: 179 physical attack | Strength scaling: D
  • Regular +6: 220 physical attack | Strength scaling: D
  • Regular +10: 276 physical attack | Strength scaling: D

2. Lothric Knight Sword

How to get the Lothric Knight Sword

The Lothric Knight Sword is a jack of all trades when it comes to weapons since it can work with basically any infusion and on top of that it’s a Quality weapon, meaning that it scales well with both Dexterity and Strength, leading to some great damage output and reliability that is solid throughout the entire game. The only thing you might find off-putting about the Lothric Knight Sword is how to get it, as you need to kill the Lothric Knights Guarding the High Wall of Lothric. The drop rate is fairly low, so you might need to do multiple runs before you actually get the sword.

What makes the Lothric Knight Sword great:

  • High range
  • Great Dexterity scaling
  • Works with any infusion
  • High critical damage
  • Versatile weapon art

Lothric Knight Sword stats:

  • Regular: 103 physical attack | Dexterity scaling: D
  • Regular +3: 133 physical attack | Dexterity scaling: C
  • Regular +6: 164 physical attack | Dexterity scaling: C
  • Regular +10: 206 physical attack | Dexterity scaling: C

1. Sellsword Twinblades

How to get the Sellsword Twinblades (6:12)

As we all know, the Sellsword Twinblades are absolute monsters when it comes to attack speed and raw damage output. They combine these two factors into a weapon that almost cannot be beaten. When you properly invest your skill points, you can expect some great damage as well as balanced stats to make sure that you survive most encounters even if you get hit a few times. There is a reason speedrunners use this weapon to slash through the game in under an hour, and you should absolutely consider it for a playthrough… or seven.

What makes the Sellsword Twinblades overpowered:

  • Extremely high damage
  • Moveset offers constant pressure
  • Great Dexterity scaling
  • Fast moveset
  • Allows for mobility
