Ark: Survival Evolved How To Knock Out A Dino

If you want to tame a dinosaur in Ark, the first step is knocking it out. This can be an easy, or a difficult task, depending on the species and on the level of your target. For a beginner, knocking out a dinosaur can be done even with your fists. Each creature in Ark has a specific torpor level that must be accomplished if you want to make it unconscious. What tools can you use? Taking advantage of other dinosaurs is a great idea, especially if you are past the Early-Game. Pulmonoscorpius is usually the choice when it comes to this task. If you choose to use weapons, try out the tranq arrows or the tranq darts. 

How it works:

• Locate the dinosaur and make sure you have the high ground if you want to attack it 
• Attack the creature using torpor-inflicting weapons or dinosaurs. Here are some ideas: tranq arrows, tranq darts, Pulomonoscorpius
• DON’T kill the dinosaur. Make sure you are not hitting it too hard 
• Knock it unconscious and start the taming process
