There are more options you can choose from when joining an Ark server. There are public servers and private ones and the last category is also divided into dedicated and non-dedicated servers. This whole process of joining a server may seem complicated at first, but it’s surely easier than hosting one. Private servers can be created by any player, including you and your friends. If your friends are better at hosting, and all you have to do is join their server, here is a simple way to do it.
How it works:
- Open Steam
- Click on the viewing button, then choose Servers and click on Favorites
- Add the server to your favorites. You need the server’s IP. You can also search for any server’s IP in the Unofficial Server Listing.
- Some private servers are open for everyone and some have passwords. Insert your server's information in the format of IP: PORT
