One of the most accessible methods for harvesting Organic Polymer as a beginner is simply using a Wooden Club. This simple Melee Weapon is available as early as level 8 and unlocks the Sword, a more advanced tool that can take your harvesting to the next level. The Sword does much more damage than the Wooden Club, but it is safer to use a powerful dinosaur for combat and to let the Sword do its collecting job after the hard part is over. As a tip, Organic Polymer drops from 4 creatures: Kairuku, Mantis, Hesperornis, and Karkinos. Choose your target based on your current level and location and get to work!
How it works:
- Craft one of the items mentioned above
- Find the creatures that offer the best source of Organic Polymer
- Start a fight and harvest their corpses using the tools

These lazy, cowardly creatures don’t look like they do much, but behind their appearance hides a secret Organic Polymer farmer, waiting for the right player to discover it. Moschops are autonomous harvesters and that makes them incredible tames, especially in the Early-Game. Despite that, they are still scared, big creatures running away from every fight, so knowing to choose the perfect target is essential. They are usually used to harvest the bodies of Kairukus, adorable penguins that humans can even carry.
How it works:
- Tame a Moschop
- Travel to the Northern areas and find some Kairukus. Tip: you can even tame the Kairukus and breed them, creating your own farm, but for now, killing them it’s a good start
- Harvest the bodies with your Moschop

The Dire Bear is a territorial omnivore that can be found on most of the maps. Its efficiency at harvesting Organic Polymer, as well as its strength as a mount, make this creature the best if you want to collect high quantities of polymer in a short time. Not only is it a good gatherer for berries, hide, chitin and polymer, but it is also a fearless combatant, with damage as high as a Rex’s. As a bonus, as all bears love honey, it can harvest honey from wild hives at a 3x rate. All in all, taming this magnificent creature will only give you advantages, including enormous stocks of Organic Polymer.
How it works:
- Tame a Dire Bear. Tips: he loves Giant Bee Honey and Superior Kibble
- Kill creatures that offer Organic Polymer
- Harvest them and refill your supplies

This amazing ancestor of the pelican is the king when it comes to Organic Polymer. Why? Not only does it have the highest gain per action, but also a weight reduction of 80%. The good news does not end here! The Pelagornis can fly to the snowy areas and eat penguins, harvesting the polymer at the same time. Isn’t it amazing? Use this creature as a fish killer, with a massive attack bonus against Piranhas, as a fishing platform, or even a long-distance scout. It has so many unique qualities that make it your next best friend, including its adorable appearance.
How it works:
- Tame a Pelagornis. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t find one easily. They like to paddle the ocean’s surface rather than fly along the beaches.
- Hunt down some penguins. Tips: younger ones will get you much more Organic Polymer. They will all run once you start attacking, so be prepared for a chase.
