Having achieved a first class degree in Music Production at Bimm, London, Doug shares his passion for gaming with a love of music. He chose an optional module in his third year of study, titled 'Music and Sound for Video Games'. In this module, he was required to design the noises and music that would likely be heard in a given example video game. His time at university eventually made him realise that his passion lies more in writing than it does in creating music. And so, he quickly became a professional writer, beginning first in music and then expanding his horizons by covering his other major passion, games. Doug loves nothing more than browsing new indie games on Steam, supporting new developers and finding the next 'Shovel Knight', 'Super Meat Boy' or 'Papers, Please'. Writing about these young, ambitious indie games and informing like-minded gamers about their existence and potential is what Doug loves about writing and gaming. However, Doug can't say no to the AAA world of games either. From classics like Skyrim to the relatively new 'Horizon Zero Dawn, Forbidden West' seeing what the best of the best that the industry has to offer is an exciting and historically invaluable experience for Doug. His favourite games of all time include Team Fortress 2, Terraria and Fallout 4, Shovel Knight and Portal 2.
